Intrepid Nomads set off on grueling challenge
Four brave Nomads will be testing their bodies to their golfing limits as they attempt to play 15 rounds of golf on 15 different Cape Town golf courses over a five-day stretch in December.
Carl Potgieter, Werner Theart, Rob Larsen and Brent Lyall, all Western Province Nomads, have embarked upon this challenge in an effort to raise money for CHOC Childhood Cancer Foundation. The fourball hopes to raise R500 000 through their efforts.
Fortunately, they will be well looked after by manager Ken Walker, who will ensure they are well fed, watered and get to their tee times on time. Ken will also brief the host clubs in order to ensure that the field allows the fourball to play through and finish their rounds in about three and a half hours.
The golfers will tee off at 5-30am and will aim to finish before the sun goes down. 54 holes of golf per day – 270 holes in five days.
Loyal Nomads sponsors adidas Golf have come to the party with apparel and golf balls, as well as prizes for the competitions that are being planned.
