Double up for Crosbie
Centurion Country Club’s Keagan Crosbie claimed his second Nomads title in a row when he edged the Nomads North and South Championship by one stroke at Pecanwood Golf & Country Club.
Crosbie started the final round a stroke off the lead of Milnerton’s Jack Buchanan and the recent Nomads Inland Order of Merit 2 champion stuttered with a double bogey at the par-four 2nd to fall further back into the chasing pack. He then rolled off a trio of bridies from the 5th hole to repair the damage and followed it up with birdies at the 11th and 12th holes.
The key hole was the 12th as Buchanan’s untimely double bogey saw Crosbie take the lead with six holes to play. He would not surrender that lead and a par at the final hole saw Crosbie crowned champion for the second Nomads event in succession.
“It was tough out there, but having got the first win under the belt at Modderfontein, I knew I could do it,” said Crosbie. “I just had to stay calm and play my game plan.”
Vukasin Suturovic claimed third place on 4 under, with Wandre Snyman fourth on 2 under. Nicolas van der Vyfer, finishng on 1 under, rounded out the top five.
