Late in 2007, following lengthy negotiations, Nomads were fortunate in securing the valuable sponsorship of                                                                                      VOLVO.

Since the loss of the highly sought after sponsorship of Junior Golf through Nedbank and BoE competitions Nomads had been supporting this means of furtherance of golf via monies derived from our countrywide support of the SA Tour and PGA Tournaments. Nomads have sought to expand their horizons in this regard and have been looking for the appropriate partner to help expand the financial assistance we can give to the Junior Golf Foundation. The motivation being to look after the future of golf in this country and to ensure that those youngsters who are part of the Junior Golf development  have access to those benefits that exposure to golf can bring - self discipline, etiquette, camaraderie, honesty and integrity. This is in addition to the aspects of keeping the youngsters gainfully occupied in an activity which promotes a healthy mind and body.

Nomads were instrumental in the start of the Junior Golf Foundation in 1960. Since then the names of those who have passed through the JGF and gone on to greater things Internationally, reads like a "Who's Who" of SA golf.

The VOLVO Masters golf days will enable us to assist Junior Golf by the support provided from the funds generated at those days. The funds raised will go to Junior Golf in the area in which they were generated, however, as there are 13 Junior Golf provinces throughout South Africa and only 12 SA Nomads Golf Clubs there will be a levy taken out of the funds raised at each Club which will then go to the Limpopo and Northwest regions Junior Golf fund.

The means to do this has arisen as a result of VOLVO's change of approach to their annual sponsored golf days. Each year VOLVO, through their dealer network around the country, used to host 25 golf days. Nomads were extremely fortunate to have been allowed to hold 12 of these days.
Due to changed economic circumstances VOLVO had to cut back severely on the number of events held and we as Nomads should be proud that Nomads retained responsibility for hosting almost 100% of the remaining golf days

At each event there will be one Nomad winner and these individuals will qualify to compete at the finals to be held at Sun City in December, where the players will play on the same course as that played on the previous day by the professionals competing in the Nedbank Golf Challenge (Million Dollar).

The organisation of these events will require close cooperation between all the parties concerned and Nomads looks forward to being an even greater part of the continuity, organisation and service we provide in supporting golf at all levels.
