Printed in full below are the full Rules of Play by which our games are governed whether it be for a regular player, a Member returning from circumstances of prolonged absence from whatever cause or for the many visitors who join us.

Whether it be at a normal monthly meeting, an Inter-Provincial Tournament, our National Tournament or our various Fund Raising events the formulas applied to regulate the handicaps applicable to that game have been judged to be extremely appropriate to the manner in which most individuals play their golf.

Handicaps are reviewed after each separate game and operate off a base score of 30 points

Whilst at no time do our modified Rules supersede those of any of the regulatory bodies in force we have instituted a format which is applicable to all of the various games and competitions in which we participate throughout the year.

To quote our Founder, Mike Florance, the Nomads format gives the Members ".... a closely planned and integrated game of golf, with all games inter-related and offering a continuing thread of interest...."

The Rules currently prescribed have been compiled and formatted over the years from the contributions and attention to detail of the many dedicated Nomads whose love of the game has honed the competitive side of the above-mentioned "...inter-related, continuing thread of interest.." to a degree of enjoyment which borders, in several cases, on the fiendish.
The format can test the strongest nerve, as your overall individual performance on the day not only reflects directly upon yourself but also contributes to the relative success, or otherwise, of many others competing for honours in the same field. Additionally, your personal performance does not just affect the current day but contributes to your standing in the many annual competitions to be resolved at the end of the playing year. Such competitions relate not only to the best but also to the other end of the scale of prowess.

The applicability of the following Rules to our Club is based on detailed study and the experience gained over many years of the results produced from literally hundreds of thousands of rounds played by Nomads Members of decidedly differing degrees of golfing competence.
The following List of Contents headlines the areas covered by our Rules of Play.
