                                    30+ years of service

When the Mother Club, Transvaal, was founded in 1960 it is probable that committing oneself to 30 or more years of service to golf and the community at large seemed like a huge milestone expected to be achieved by relatively few, yet, here we are 50+ years later and those with 30+ years of service are relatively junior to those who have completed anything up to those 50 years as a member of the Nomads Club.

Listed below are those names who are still amongst us today who have reached that 30+ years milestone. It is unlikely that the list is complete as not all Clubs have rendered a return enumerating those who have reached this prestigious point.

Those who have reached this point can be recognised by virtue of the distinctive tie they wear which is the normal Nomads tie but with bands of Roman numerals XXX in gold lettering repeated alternately with  a band of Nomads bells diagonally across the tie from top right to bottom left.

Put into perspective it should be realised that 30 years ago our 8th Club, Easterns, had only just been inaugurated. We now have 12 local Clubs and 5 International branches. It therefore stands to reason that the names listed below were inducted as a Member at one of our older Clubs but some have "migrated" to the later formed Clubs as can be seen from the names of the Club to which they currently are attached.

To those who are included congratulations on a wonderful achievement. It is sincerely hoped that your stay with Nomads has been productive and enjoyable.

Many of the individuals listed below are no longer active in our Club and have become Associate Members. Some are in the Non-Active category but remain Members of Nomads for the fellowship and camaraderie that they have experienced over the years.

As this page spans the time period of 30 to 35 years membership the names are listed in alphabetical order. If visitors to this site know of others whose names should be recorded in this time frame then please advise the webmaster accordingly.

Many of the above have served our Club in an official capacity as a Committee Member, Captain or even on the National Executive. We thank them for their services just as we thank all the others for their participation in whatever capacity over the years.

Congratulations to all concerned. May you go on to greater things with many more enjoyable years ahead.
