CURRENT CLUB CAPTAIN:    Since Rhodesia became internationally independent in 1981 they ceased to be a
Nomads Club under the SA banner. With independence the Club changed its name to Zimbabwe Nomads and then with the advent of additional Nomads Clubs throughout Zimbabwe this Club changed its name to Mashonaland Nomads Golf Club. There is, therefore, no current Club Captain.

(For further information on the continued success of this Club and the formation of other Clubs in Zimbabwe, look under the ZIMBABWE  page)

BRIEF HISTORY:             Following the transfer of a Transvaal Nomad to the, then, Salisbury, Rhodesia it was but a short time before a "Show-the-Flag" meeting was arranged. This lead to the inauguration of the Rhodesian Nomads Golf Club in September 1968.

During the period 1968-1981 the Rhodesian Nomads Club was part of the South African fraternity but, in 1981, when Rhodesia became independent as Zimbabwe, the Club itself became a separate, self-controlling entity with their own National Executive. This situation developed further resulting in the formation of two new Nomads Clubs, namely, Matabeleland and Midlands.
