BRIEF HISTORY:            For many years it was recognised that the Free State was the only Province which did not have any connections with the Nomads Club overall even though the area as a whole contained many magnificent golf courses.  

In the early-90s an attempt was made to "Show-the-Flag" in the Welkom area but this met with an apathetic response. Once again the old concerns about traveling distances and potential membership numbers raised their heads. A more concerted effort in 1996 brought a much wider and warmer response following which the Club was inaugurated in late 1997 having been sponsored by the Boland Nomads Club.
